Hi everyone!
Sorry it's been a long time between drinks! I have been sooo busy!
I have some very exciting news. I HAVE BEEN NOMINATED FOR AN ARIA AWARD! I am in the final 5!!!! I can't believe it either!
Let me tell you what happened...Doug, my manager helper friend, gave me a call 2 days ago saying that he had had a call from a publicist asking if I was attending the finalist nominations in Sydney the next day (yesterday). He said that I wasn't, and wanted to know why? They of course couldn't tell him why....so I decided to fly down anyway!
Why not?..sounded fun going and mixing it with the rock stars! So I had to madly and nervously arrange to get up the following morning at 4:30am and fly to Sydney. My husband Phill dropped me to the gold coast airport, and at the the last minute says "I wanna come too"...so he bought a cheap ticket there and then over the counter! That's a good thing about being a hippy at heart.....you can change your mind easily anytime!
SO off we went saying stuff like "what if I get nominated, wouldn't that be sick! And then...what if i don't, wouldn't that suck! But we both knew why we were there...just to have fun...and we did. After we found the Sydny theartre, we nervously were early, and decided to walk and find some coffee. Now I haven't been drinking anything with caffeine for ages, so coffee really hit me! I found myself finishing off a song that I had been writing for a while and then singing it to Phil whilst we waited for Doug outside the venue...Phil thought it was very funny. I was too off my head to notice!!
After doing a lot of looking at all the rock stars and industry folk gathering outside, and not knowing anyone, we all were told to go on inside for the ceremony. By this time I was quite nervous, and Doug too. He was really hoping he hadn't told me for nothing.
So...you know the ending. I did get nominated and it was sick!!!! Gina Jeffreys, James Blundel, The Green Cards and Keith Urban are the other 4 finalists. Yep...I know what you are thinking and I reckon I agree.."good luck with that one!!" Oh well..so happy to be there and am still floating around!
Also, I am flying off down to Mildura for the indi country awards in a couple of weeks, so i'll let you know what happens with that one.

Hi everyone!
Welcome to my very first news! I thought it might be nice to have a little goss for ya'll to look at...and it's pretty fun to tell your news too! Kinda like when you're in kindy and it's your day for show and tell or news. Don't know about you guy, but that was probably a highlight for me at school!
Well...there is sooo much to tell, so I'll only tell my most recent news and then try keep you updated every 2 weeks.
I have just come back from a mini tour with Troy Cassar-Daley. That was sooo much fun! We started at Coffs and then went to Yamba and then to Casino, and finished at Petrie. As you can probably imagine, I was pretty nervous before the first show. Actually I was pretty nervous before all the shows! Troy was very kind and introduced me before each show. The intros he gave got better and better at each show, til finally at the last show, I thought my head wasn't going to fit out the door! It was real nice to know that I was appreciated and the whole crew made me feel very welcome, even though I was the only girl!
What else??..Hmmm oh yeah, my new single "One Shoe" is now out on radio and on CMC. It would be great if you could request it for me! I have been getting heaps of messages from friends and fans about the clip and I haven't even seen it yet!
I'm also playing at Gympie in a couple of weeks at the muster. It is my very first time going and I am very excited and nervous too. Come and check me out on thursday Friday and Sat at the festival. Dates and times are on my gig guide page.
Also in 4 weeks I am playing with Kasey Chambers' band "The Lost Dogs"
at Avoca. That is going to be way cool!
Oh well...better start enjoying my time off now. The kids are having a day off school and we're going fishing! Yey!
